Well, here we are again!

T minus 9.5 hours and counting...

So, since we might have a new guy along tonight I'll explain how we do a couple things...

First consideration is that we do a LOT of racing and this isn't NASCAR. Rubbing is not racing. Rubbing is driving badly and is frowned upon (discounting accidents and mistakes, of course). So, drive like you're paying for the repairs yourself.

Races will start when everyone has finished their lap and is at the start line. Whoever won, or whoever is the host will type something, usually between <> (such as <GO>) and the race will start once that text NATURALLY falls off the screen. If someone types something or Nitrace pops up the start will be redone.

If there are guns allowed for a combat race, the general rule is don't shoot until after the first jump. That will usually give everyone time to get sorted out. If you die during a combat race DO NOT shoot up the starting line after you regen. The ONLY people that should be shooting after a combat race are the ones who finished the lap and want to sort out who had the most car left.

I host most maps for 55 minutes, starting at the top of the hour, with a timer for the challenge map (6:00-6:55) leading up to the main event. On occasion I will pick a map that has an issue, like bridges that can be blown up with no alternate route, which will either have to be rehosted or we'll switch to a new map. On rarer occasions I will pick the wrong map (due to similar names or being a confused old man) or pick something inappropriate the number and/or skill of the players. When this happens I will throw anyone in the game out to the lobby and rehost something not quite as horrible.

That being said, it's the BACKSPACE key to type...

I think we'll start with an *EASY* map for tonight...!

Check Twitch for a hint.

See you there...or not!

I will be there. and hopefully not cause a major pile up.

So we all do one hot lap around the track before starting? Is that what Im gathering?

It's OK to cause a pile up or two...it's not like the game has wonky physics from time to time.

As for "hot laps"...most of us know these maps like the backs of our hands so we usually cold start and warm up as we go. I suppose we can do a dogue (follow the leader) lap or two to show you what you're in for *AND* get some cool video in the process.

We'll coach you through the (future) challenge maps since a lot of them have tricks and/or features that you need to master to finish a lap. Sky Drag 1.1's purpose is pretty straight forward (pun intended) so you won't need a lot of help.

See you in about 8 hours!

Man, this being a grown-up thing is tough...

:P

Anyway, looks like we're about 9 hours out on the event which give me a little time to look over the maps and come up with something "fresh" out of the stale bread we call a game.

We haven't been to Nitro Rush IIIa for a couple weeks so we'll start there and move on based on how many players we've got in the game.

Remember, the events will be about 55 minutes long with short breaks at the top of the hour so don't think I've wandered off if you don't see a game straight away.

See you there...or not. I'm not your mom.

I may and may not make it tonite.
Depends on a couple things.

My power line to house caught in fire so they are repairing burnt line .
If we get power back. Need to assess damage .
If PC works, and nothing else real bad, i
can join.

Hey kids,

Looks like I'm going to have company tomorrow so I'm not going to be able to start the event at my regular time.

That means no Twitch, either...so if anyone can get the Xsplit Broadcaster installed and wants to run the stream tomorrow (from 6:00 until 8:00) let me know and I'll get the key over to you in a PM.

That also means I should outline the event for y'all so people aren't scratching their heads for something to do:

6:00 - 7:00 - Scratch
7:00 - 8:00 - Zen Speedway > 3+ people < Katana
8:00 - 9:00 - Lone's Challenge > 3+ people < Pipeline

So, there ya go! I'll tap a couple people on IM if I don't see anyone reply here.

See you tomorrow night!

Hey kids,

Looks like GrizZz is going to be able to take care of the hosting for the first part of the night for us.

If things go wrong, blame him!
