nVIDIA Profile Inspector

Post by KIV 6051 [SH] »

If you have a nvidia video card the profile inspector can help make the game work a little better. You can download it here:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Orbmu2k ... /artifacts

To use:
Install and run it.
Delete the entry for WCW Nitro (I heard it was a terrible game anyway)
Bind nitro.exe to Battlezone and add a parameter for 24fps, or
Download the nip files I made for Interstate '76 and Interstate '76 Nitro Pack so the entries won't be completely lost after updating the video card drivers. These can be saved virtually anywhere, such as the Interstate 76 Arsenal folder, since they have to be added in NPI anyway.
I76_nips.zip
(934 Bytes) Downloaded 271 times
When you want to play i76 or nitro simply leave NPI running with the chosen game selected from the drop-down list, then launch the game.

Y'all are welcome to make changes and upload updated versions of these files if you're able to make improvements. One thing I've noticed is NPI all but eliminates sound loop ghosts, where a sound clip gets stuck in a loop and can be heard coming from the location it was originally generated. I used to get around this (with limited success) by having only 7 sound channels turned on, however now I can enjoy all 8 and have only heard a sound loop ghost once since I started using NPI where before it was almost every map.

After removing NITRO.EXE from the WCW Nitro profile I'd recommend just adding NITRO.EXE to the Interstate '82 profile and then setting the frame rate limiter to 24.4.

That's all you really need to do.

and after you've done everything you can close the profile inspector .. you don't need to leave it running
Bring water to a boil. Lightly salt and oil. Add pasta. Cook until al dente...
