I'76 Nitro Pack (GoG) Windows 10

Post by Rowdy Bill »

Hi there, just some info for people.
I downloaded the GoG I'76 Nitro Pack and tried running it on Windows 10 with Patch 3
It doesn't work, keeps asking for the CD when you click 'Scenarios'. Melee works fine.
So I reverted back to original files (unpatched it) and now it works fine. Well, I've just started the first level, so we will see.....

Awesome game, so glad I found this again. I used to absolutely rinse this game back in the 90's.

I will try to get the multiplayer working at some point, but as I'm on GMT I don't know if I will be able to join the Tuesday night games. Not a convenient time for me!

That's good news-ish!

We'd love to have you along for the fun!

As for your CD issue, I think the easiest way to address the problem is to extract the files from the GOG EXE / installation package and burn them to a CD.

I seem to recall that fixing the problem, however, I don't have a Win10 box handy to test that out for you.

There's also rumblings about a Sunday "afternoon" event so our European friends can join us, though I'm not sure if 10:00pm will work for you since the earliest I can get on-line is about 2pm Pacific.

You will need Patch III to play multi-players. There's no way around it, sorry.

However...that leads me to an idea for a new post!

PM me if you have any other questions!

Ok, so I can't get the patch to work...

The game works fine unpatched, but when the Nitro III patch is activated whatever I try I always get the 'Put in the CD' pop-up when I click 'Scenarios'
However, with the Nitro III patch on the melee mode still works, so I think I can play online. Haven't tried it on a server yet obviously. But I can open a new game as the host (don't know if it's joinable)

I've tried:
Virtual Drive (letter D:) mounted with game files
Physical Drive (defaults to letter E:) with burned GoG game files CD
I even tried running the game from the CD drive

...try to burn the image I linked you to a disk and let us know.

You may have to run two installations. One to play the scenarios and one to play on-line.

However, I don't think you'll have to go that far.
