Wireless Network Interference?

Post by Speed Demon » Thu Oct 14, 2004 7:12 pm

My computer is connected to my router through a wireless ethernet card. It works great, and eliminates the long length of cable and hole drilling I would need to connect it regulalry, but I have a problem. Whenever I play I'76 online, my game shows evidence of TCP stacking. Double lined text, wacky physics, non working controls, glitches etc....

As of late, I have been noticing that a second router is in the area. I don't know who it is, but it's definitely not mine. My router is a D-link, but when I check the available wireless networks, two are listed. Mine, and USR8054. USR being a US Robotics 8054 wireless ethernet router. My question is this, could this second router be interfering with mine, causing the dual connections, and therefore causing the dual tcp stack?

That could be the problem...

Impliment the security keys on your router and PC and see where it gets you. Also, make sure that your "hard wire card" is disabled.

Let us know.
If only you could see what I've seen...
