New England Run Feedback

Firstly, I'm glad to see this story being posted again. I enjoyed it first time round, and I've since forgotten most of it, so it's good to have it available.

What kind of feedback are you looking for on this one? I'd guess you're not keen on rewriting huge swathes of it, given it's age. I notice you're making small edits as you repost it, I'd only suggest there are still a few typos, errors etc lurking in there, if you want to polish it completely.

I notice you say you've gone off first person writing, why is that? I'm not using it myself currently, but it's a good way to tell a tale, particularly one that doesn't need to show the reader what's going on outside of the main character's experience. There's an element of self-consciousness with it (one reason I never wrote about my own persona except that one short, short story), but I enjoy reading Redline Fox's adventures from "the man himself". Particularly with the theme of personal growth and discovery running through stories like this, first person is a good way to connect with the reader.

Just some thoughts to get the discussion rolling. 8)

Well, since this story is so old and my writing has improved since that time I was'nt really looking for to much feedback other then what anyone would want to offer.

I stopped using first person, for the most part because it did'nt allow me to branch out into the other character's thought proccesses. All I could do with NER is give some brief quips into some of the things that other characters are doing that RLF would not have explicitly remembered.

Besides that, I have a lot of serious writing projects on my table which do not work well in a first person persepctive. So, when I come back and do fan-fic, I'm not inclined to change my writing style back.

Hmm, hope that answers your questions AE. :)

Just some FYI, I am not posting sections by the day, I am posting them by how much patience I have to do so.
