There's a strange man who runs a blog that seems to like us very much...

Visit him here.

You might learn something. Then again your mind may melt into a puddle of bits and bytes and need to be recompiled.

hi

I used to used to do a bit of hex editing back in the day.

I have a couple of questions . . .

I was intrigued to see this blog pop up - but it's now set to private. Does anyone have a contact for the guy running it?

I've fired the game up again to try my hand at a particular custom paint job, and have been trying to locate screengrabs I made of vehicle textures in file called goodies.zip associated with my custom paint guide ( https://web.archive.org/web/20010813045 ... hoppos.htm )

Does anyone have a copy of this?

Cached images on google from the hackingonspace blog, suggest he does or did, as this is part of it : http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--U401qEb1YE/V ... 36-sml.png

many thanks, and any help greatly appreciated

Uh - that's me.

The private thing is GDPR paranoia, after I got a long old message from Google about it - I need to read the notification, shut down comments and go find a disclaimer, but haven't had the time, so I just set it to private until I do that.

Should be back up next week, assuming I get a moment to look at it. Yeah, that’s unnecessarily paranoid, but hey.

If you just want the format info the links should still work, so going to https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw6Bi ... U42ZnVXOEk should get you the format docco. For code Erik's https://github.com/r1sc/Open76 is probably the place to go for state of the art parsing.

Cheers,
T.

Thanks so much Tony that's great. Totally understand the caution, and looking forward to it reappearing!

Do you have a copy of the goodies.zip file with all the .vqms screen-grabbed as .bmp?
