Re: The Tuesday Night Event!

It's too early to be thinking about an event...or is it?

10 hours from now I'll have a clever challenge map up for us...but which one?

Re: Timed run at Slipstream

You can if you want to...

...however, if it's not glorious enough to motivate me to update the page, is it glorious at all?

Re: Timed run at Slipstream

I'm thinking that for general purposes that the maps on the leaderboard should be over 5:00 to start (and I'm pretty sure Morton is about a 4:30 map). If they get worked down from there, so be it but I don't think that we're going to be able to split hairs fine enough on tracks like "Twister" to mak...

So...not like traffic is high enough that people will wonder why I moved this thread here, but in case you were wondering:

Lap Time Leaderboard

All submissions need video verification.

Get your laps in early before I set them all out of your reach.

Re: The Tuesday Night Event!

It's Tuesday, kids! That means it's time for like the 850's event we've hosted on some day starting with a "T"...

Anyway, I'm thinkin' a night of weirdness starting with SkyDrag...

I may allow some weapons along the way, too...just to keep the meatball spicy.

See you there...or not.

General Information

Since no one has bothered to note any of this in the past: The map template is 80x80 squares. Each square has 640x640 points. Vehicles are (typically) 5 wide by 10 long. It takes (approximately) 24 seconds at 60mph to cross a square. This works out to about 4/10's of a mile per square making the map...

Re: Timed run at Slipstream

Heh, not to raise the dead but I just did this map again in a D15 version of Thunderbolt...

Looks like I got in under 9:00 again, too...

...but just off record pace at 8:58 vs. 8:55.

Funny, I clipped the wall at the end again.

Video forthcoming.

Re: The Friday Night Feh!

You weren't playing with hacks, were you?

You may want to delete the last VCF you were mucking around with and try again...or not.

It might do you good to have to reinstall.

Well, you're just a stinky hippie with a pocket full of the devils lettuce...we don't expect much from you. Perhaps I'll fire up a Win10 box so I can help out all you poor, unfortunate patchouli smellin' monkeys...? :P PS - Make sure your user account has full permissions to the "Activision" folder ...

Do you suffer from random desktops in -GLIDE?

Assuming Windows <7/8/10>: Open your event viewer and find the application logs. Look for events that coincide with the Nitro / desktop event. If the error looks like this: Faulting application name: nitro.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x351c24ce Faulting module name: ZGLIDE.DLL, version: 0.0.0...
