I woke up in a pool of sweat, looking from my soggy couch for any signs that I hadn?t been dreaming. My spirits faded once my head came back to me, knowing that it wasn?t possible she was still alive after the torture she experienced from a pack of sadist creepers. I don't like this bit. I would en...

NaNoWriMo

Just a note to say that the National Novel Writing Month is happening in November. Some peeps from a forum I visit are signing up to it. For me, it looks like an impossible task, but there may be someone here who'd like a good excuse to flex some fiction muscles.

You don't need to be original, but it's worth bearing in mind the setting- the groups and individuals at conflict would be different in stories set in 1977, 1983, and 2002. Sometimes it is good to pick something fairly well trodden, in order to keep the whole thing within the zeitgeist of the era, a...

Actually, I think it'd be a refreshing change to have a conspiracy that didn't involve the government being behind it all.

Then again, in the actual game, you could take a salvo of minigun fire, or a rocket up the chuff and just scuff the paintwork. To be honest, justifying the regular cars via hi-tech armouring materials, etc, is enough of a suspension of disbelief breaker, that going into the territory of invincible R...

I think changing the screen res or going to the options menu and back out fixed crazy graphics in i76/nitro from my experience, but maybe not that specific problem.

I'm sure I posted a sneaky way to get i76 running with sound, but it must have been deleted/on the old board, or else I can't see for looking. You only had to disable hardware sound for one run of the game- enough to set the in game audio to something that worked, then keep a copy of the nitplayr.de...

Your monitor must be below 60Hz since my monitor has always been at 60Hz max and I don't seem to have much of a problem. Perhaps your monitor has a low duty cycle. Different people have different tolerances to flickering light. I personally won't run under 85hz for anything* unless it's a good dist...

Object physics are fucked in 3d, though, aren't they?- car won't fly off bumps right, and mortars will only go 10'... Edit- you only get asked if you run splash, not nitro.exe... Or else if you know a command line switch for nitro.exe to choose the rendering mode (which is all I assume the splash ap...

I don't do routers- do you forward all traffic to the relevant ports, ie TCP and UDP? I only ask because for another online (racing) game, people had trouble with lag and dropouts because they didn't release UDP as well as TCP.

But it sounds like Mitsubishi.
It's like deciding the interstate name for Chevrolet should be Fard, because the bloke in charge named his dog that.

Mutsuraboshi sounds a bit close to Mitsubishi for me to read it as a Subaru replacement, though. :?

Yeah, that's the reason I wrote cuppatea, because it's basically just a chapter on its own. the one I'm working on is mainly based in December '83, and features Ace English and Redline Fox for the most part, on a trip to England for a race. Besides keeping the characters honest, I'm also trying to e...
